Solar fires in the register
Counted from the live register.
Fire research groups and trade bodies say the industry has no usable data on solar fires. This page is what the register holds today: every published solar PV entry, counted by year, country, stage of life and what failed. Every entry names its sources, and the entries written from public reporting name the site and the companies exactly as the reporting names them.

What this page cannot tell you yet
Two things a regulator or a fire researcher would want are not recorded as their own fields:
- Panel build: whether the modules were plastic backsheet or glass on glass.
- Mounting: on-roof, in-roof, or ground mounted.
Public reporting rarely states either, so recording them means adding the fields and filling them only where a source says so. We are proposing both, and would rather define them with the industry than alone. If you work on solar safety or standards, tell us what the fields should be.

- Every entry is free to read: browse the solar entries.
- Cite an entry by its reference, for example EIR-1170, and link it. Attribution is all we ask.
- Pull the same data over the API.
- If an entry is wrong, the correction is free, for anyone.
