What happened
On the evening of 8 May 2026, Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to Highburn Close to a fire at a home involving a solar panels unit. A fire service spokesman said crews extinguished it with CO2 and isolated the panels with a PV stop, using a turntable ladder from Avon Fire. The road was closed near the junction with Marine Drive. The cause, any injuries and the extent of damage were not reported.
