Firefighters were called to Burton Pedwardine Solar Farm on Asgarby Road in Burton Pedwardine, Lincolnshire, on 24 February 2024 after reports of a smoking transformer. Crews from Sleaford attended shortly after 4pm and National Grid was also reported on scene dealing with the incident. Black smoke was seen above the solar panels and people in the area were advised to keep windows and doors closed because of smoke. A social media post described the small 40 acre site as on fire. The incident was reported as ongoing at the time of publication, and the cause, the extent of any damage and the final outcome were not reported.
