Roadside vegetation fire reaches Arcos 4 and Arcos 5 solar plants in Jerez

A vegetation fire was reported on the Tuesday before 23 September 2026 on the CA-4107, the road linking Torrecera with Paterna de Rivera, at kilometre 6. It burned on both sides of the carriageway and affected about 15,000 square metres. Firefighters from Medina Sidonia attended, with support from Benalup, and extinguishing work lasted one hour and ten minutes. When crews arrived, flames had reached the vegetation and surroundings of the Arcos 4 and Arcos 5 photovoltaic plants, both in the municipality of Jerez. The impact appeared limited to vegetation. The Cádiz provincial fire consortium reported that no damage to the installations was observed.
The cause was not known at the time of the report. The source does not say how the fire moved from the roadside into the plant vegetation.
