What happened
On Monday 7 September, multiple first responder agencies battled a grass fire that broke out at a solar farm complex near Hillsboro, Texas, in the 100 block of HCR 4323. Hill County Emergency Management reported that the fire burned at least 33 acres within the solar farm complex. Crews from Itasca Fire, Covington Fire, Hillsboro Fire, Bynum Fire, Woodbury Fire, Milford Fire, the Hill County Sheriff's Office and the Hill County Office of Emergency Management responded to contain the blaze.
The fire was subsequently extinguished and all responding units cleared the scene. It is not reported whether solar panels or other equipment were damaged, or what caused the fire; the available reporting describes it as a grass fire on the solar farm property.
