What happened

A vegetation fire broke out on the morning of 15 June 2026 at a solar farm near California Valley, San Luis Obispo County, California, close to Highway 58. The specific name of the solar farm was not given in the source. Flames spread through approximately 10 acres of grass within the solar farm property. CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo County Fire crews responded and were able to halt the fire's forward progress relatively quickly, helped by favourable ground conditions and the fact that the burn area was bordered by roads on all sides, which aided containment.
