What happened
A fire broke out at the Sirius Solar photovoltaic plant in the municipality of Zamora, Spain, on the afternoon of 20 September 2026. The regional forest-fire service recorded the start at 18:20 and classed the fire at potential gravity index 0, a rating it kept for the whole response. Eight resources were assigned from the start, including two environmental agents or wardens. The fire was brought under control and declared out at 19:30, one hour and ten minutes after it began. Six resources were still assigned at that time. The probable cause is officially under investigation, and the burned area had not yet been measured.
