How many data centre fires are recorded?
59 fires among 180 data centre entries, in the power systems: UPS and battery rooms, backup generators, switchgear, transformers and fuel.
Counted from the register's published entries on 2026-11-03. Every entry is written from published news and trade reporting and lists its sources. Data centre fires and power failures.
Read the count as a count of what is recorded. The register is new and has been filling in an archive, so a rise across years is a measure of the register, not of the world, and a country with open reporting appears more often than one without. The methodology says how entries are found, written and checked.
