What happened
On 5 June 2023, a fire was reported at a substation in Smaznevo, in the Zalesovsky district of Altai Krai, Russia. A district official, quoted by Russian media, said the substation was on fire, that there was an emergency power outage throughout the district, and that the fire was being put out, after which the substation would switch to backup supply. Telegram channels reported an explosion, and early reports said a transformer caught fire. No information on casualties was available.
