Fire crews from four Hampshire fire stations were called to a blaze at an electricity substation in Warsash, at Chilling Lane, after a call received at 8.27am on 24 June 2020. Crews reported seeing large volumes of black smoke, and the cause of the fire was said to have involved an electrical cable. Appliances from Fareham, Hightown, Cosham and Portchester were mobilised. At the time of reporting most crews had left the scene, with one appliance from Fareham still present. Injuries, evacuation, loss of supply and the extent of damage to the substation were not reported in the source.
