On the morning of 6 October 2026, a fire broke out inside a public electricity transformer on Wanjat Street in Alexandria, Egypt, in front of a private hospital in the east of the city. Civil protection crews set a cordon and put the fire out before it reached nearby buildings, shops or vehicles. No injuries or deaths were reported. The cause had not been established, and any material damage was still being assessed.
