Fire controlled at an electricity transformer in Al-Ramali village

2026Published 6 Oct 2026

Civil defence in Menoufia governorate is reported to have controlled a fire in an electricity transformer in Al-Ramali village, in the Qweisna area of Menoufia, Egypt. The report says the fire was extinguished without spreading to neighbouring places and without injuries or deaths. A formal record was made and the authorities were looking into the cause. Any effect on electricity supply, and the extent of damage, were not reported.

The cause was not reported. The source says the competent authorities were still examining the circumstances.

  1. A reported transformer fire should be treated as able to spread to neighbouring property until fire crews confirm it is out.
  2. Where the cause is still under inquiry, do not assume a fault mode from the first public report.
  3. Early attendance by fire appliances, and a check that flames have not reached nearby places, are the minimum actions a short report of this kind supports.
