Vehicle collision downs hydro pole and cuts power in London, Ontario

What happened
On the afternoon of 27 October 2025, a single vehicle struck a hydro pole on Dundas Street in the Old East Village area of London, Ontario. The pole was knocked down at about 2:20 p.m. More than 400 people were left without hydro. Police closed Dundas Street in both directions near McCormick Boulevard. The road was expected to stay closed for several hours while London Hydro repaired the downed pole. It was the second hydro pole crash reported in the city that day.
