Fire damages auxiliary transformer at Brahmanbaria substation

What happened
A fire broke out at an old power substation in the Datiara area of Brahmanbaria early on 29 August, around 5:30am. It damaged an auxiliary transformer and supply to several parts of the city was suspended. Fire service personnel brought the blaze under control within about 15 minutes. The cause had not been determined. Repair work was reported to be under way, with efforts to restore supply as soon as possible. No casualties were reported.
