What happened
A construction employee was reported to have been electrocuted while working at the QTS Data Center in Fayette County. The account, published on 29 June 2025, says this was on Saturday morning. Contributing factors
Not reported. It is not known whether the shock involved a temporary construction supply or the data centre’s own power systems.
Lessons learned
- Treat electrical work at a data centre under construction as live until isolation is proved, and keep permit-to-work and lock-out controls in place.
- Keep first aid and a clear route to emergency care on site, because early CPR and rapid transfer can restore circulation.
- Record which circuit or piece of equipment was involved before drawing conclusions about site supplies, switchgear or other power systems.
