Fire at Cleco substation disrupts power in Covington

The Covington Fire Department responded to a fire at Cleco's Ramsey Substation near Phillip Drive and Ronald Reagan Highway in Covington. Preliminary reports put the start of the fire at about 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday night. At one point 17,000 people lost power. Supply was later fully restored. The official cause remains under investigation.
