Vegetation fire at Beryl, Utah solar farm doused by fire crews

A fire broke out at a solar farm near Beryl, Utah, spreading across about 10 acres of the property and threatening nearby structures related to the solar farm. Enterprise Fire Department responders arrived around 10:45 a.m. and, with assistance from Color Country Interagency Fire Center and Beryl Fire Department crews, extinguished the blaze within about 20 minutes of arrival using hand tools to cut off the fire's spread followed by water to douse the remaining flames. The Enterprise Fire Chief said the fire was human caused, likely resulting from mowing equipment at the site striking a rock and producing a spark. It was noted that the solar company maintained low fuel loads in the area, which limited the amount of vegetation available to burn. No injuries or serious damage were reported by the solar farm or fire crews.
