Home battery storage system explodes during shed fire near Rostock, Germany

A battery energy storage system installed at the property had overheated before fire crews arrived. While firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze, the battery exploded, blowing the roof off the shed and causing the structure to collapse. Flying debris from the explosion damaged two neighbouring properties. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries during the incident.
