On 24 September 2026, a passerby reported a fire at solar panels on the shore of Inba-numa in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture. The site was flooded after Typhoon 25, so firefighters and police could not approach and could not fight the fire. It appeared to die down once, but smoke and flames were still seen in the afternoon. Any link between the typhoon and the outbreak has not been established.
The cause of the fire has not been reported. Flooding prevented emergency access. Police said they would examine the site once the fire had subsided.
