A fire broke out at a ComEd electrical substation on Goose Island, on the North Side of Chicago, shortly after midnight. Fire crews were notified at about midnight and attended the substation in the 1100 block of North North Branch Street. The fire was struck out a little over an hour later after crews sprayed foam on it. No one was injured. The extent of any property damage was not immediately known. ComEd was not reporting any serious power outages in the area. The cause has not been reported.
