What happened

A local report says a transformer on a hydro pole exploded early in the morning and a fire broke out on the pole, cutting all power to a nearby business building. The business owner said Manitoba Hydro arrived within about fifteen minutes and got the situation under control. The same account says outages there were not uncommon and usually lasted only a few minutes. Staff were sent home and the business closed for the day. The cause of the failure, any injuries, and a more precise location are not reported.
