What happened

Emergency services were called to a workplace accident at the PPAW wind farm (Pohénégamook, Picard, Saint-Antonin and Wolastokuk), near chemin Champoux in Saint-Antonin, on 27 September 2026 at about 13:30. A worker carrying out tasks inside a wind turbine is reported to have fallen. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and was reported to be fighting for his life. An investigation has been opened and the CNESST has been notified.

Contributing factors

The cause has not been reported. Investigators are still establishing the circumstances of the reported fall.

Lessons learned

Work inside a turbine during construction needs fall protection and a practised rescue plan before the task starts.
After a reported fall with serious injury, similar work should stop until the circumstances are known.
Notify the workplace safety regulator promptly so the investigation can begin while evidence is still available.
