Lessons learned
- Battery storage containers should be spaced and separated so that a fire in one unit does not spread to neighbouring units, which otherwise ties up fire crews protecting other equipment.
- Operators should give local fire services current site plans, access routes and hazard information for battery containers before an incident occurs.
- Operators and authorities should publish a clear account of the cause and status of a battery fire once it is known, so that the lessons can be shared.
