What happened
A fire broke out on the roof of platforms 9 and 10 at New Delhi railway station around 1am on 10 July, damaging solar panels and portions of the roof. No casualties were reported. The fire was brought under control within minutes using fire extinguishers before fire tenders arrived. A couple of benches were also damaged.
Contributing factors
The incident was caused by a short circuit from an IRCTC vending machine installed at the station.
