Solar panels catch fire at Sydney Olympic Park aquatic centre

Solar panels on the roof of the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre caught fire, and the venue was evacuated during a school swim meet. NSW Fire and Rescue crews found fire and black smoke coming from the roof, worked with a hose line and breathing apparatus, and used an aerial appliance. They switched off the solar panels that were alight. Damage was confined to some roof panels and solar panels. The centre closed for the remainder of the afternoon.
