Worker dies after fall at Kilgallioch wind farm

What happened

A worker died after a fall while working at Kilgallioch wind farm, which straddles Dumfries and Galloway and South Ayrshire in Scotland. Ambulance, air ambulance and coastguard resources were sent. Police said a man was pronounced dead at the scene and that the site was closed. How far he fell was not reported. The 96-turbine development was under construction at the time.

The cause of the fall was not reported. Police said enquiries were at an early stage, and the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.
