On 28 June 2021, at about 12:03, a fire broke out at the electric substation in Termez City, in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan. According to experts cited in reporting, the fire began in one of the transformers at the site. Two fire and rescue brigades responded and extinguished the blaze by 12:18, around fifteen minutes after it started. The press service of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that no deaths or injuries had been reported. At the time of reporting, the cause of the fire and the amount of damage had yet to be established.
