Snake reported in transformer in Mohali, with explosion and power cut

On 13 July 2024, residents of Mohali were reported to have lost power after a snake got into a power transformer, which was reported to have exploded. A senior official of the Power Corporation told the outlet that inspection found a snake inside the transformer and that the animal was dead. How the snake entered, and the extent of the outage, were not reported.

The source reports that a snake was found inside the transformer after the explosion. No further contributing factors were reported.
