What happened

A wind turbine at PORTA High School in Petersburg experienced a brake system failure, allowing the blades to spin freely. Technicians could not service it until the blades stopped. The turbine collapsed the following day. It was sited away from homes and public areas, so no injuries occurred. Officials advised the public to stay away from the site.
