What happened
On 22 September 2024 an explosion occurred at a transformer substation in Ternopil, Ukraine. The State Emergency Service reported that an SV-110 insulator exploded and oil burned over an area of one square metre. The fire was extinguished. Two streets lost power. The power company said it would switch supply to another line. The circumstances of the incident were still being established.
