What happened
Firefighters extinguished a rooftop blaze in solar panels on a home on Bay Avenue in Bayport. A neighbour reported smoke on the roof around 11:15 a.m. On arrival, crews found a solar panel burning underneath. They removed the burning panel and an adjacent panel, then extinguished the fire without entering the attic. Damage to the roof was minimal.
