Solar panel fire on roof of home in Stratford

Crews from the Stratford Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls about a house fire on Clover Street in Stratford on Tuesday afternoon. On arrival, firefighters found a solar panel on fire on the roof, with the fire extending to the roof material. Crews rapidly extinguished the fire and disconnected the solar power supply to the home. A search of the property confirmed that the occupants had already left the building. The incident was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation by the Stratford Fire Marshal's office. Stratford EMS and police also attended to support the response.
