A fire broke out at the Krahës substation in the Memaliaj area near Tepelena, Albania. According to local sources, a short circuit in the network caused the transformer at the substation to catch fire. Firefighters attended the scene to extinguish the flames. As a result of the fire, approximately 1500 subscribers in the surrounding area were left without electricity for around 24 hours. The damaged transformer was expected to be replaced the following afternoon. Specialists from the state electricity distribution operator OSHEE were reported on site to manage the response and repair works. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
