What happened

On 19 November 2025, a wind turbine on Burnley Road in Trawden, near Colne in East Lancashire, caught fire. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted just after 2pm and dispatched three fire engines from Colne, Burnley and Darwen to the scene. Fire crews found the turbine well alight and used hose reels to extinguish the blaze. The incident was brought under control and crews remained at the scene for approximately 30 minutes before standing down.
