Fire takes single turbine out of service at Greater Changhua 4 wind farm

In 2026, a turbine at Ørsted's Greater Changhua 4 offshore wind farm off Taiwan automatically tripped after its monitoring system detected an abnormal condition. The site team subsequently observed a fire on the turbine, which was extinguished a short time later. No personnel were injured. The turbine was shut down and isolated and a safety exclusion zone was established around it as a precaution, while the rest of the wind farm continued to operate normally.
