What happened
A worker at the Bango Wind Farm construction site on Lachlan Valley Way near Yass, New South Wales, suffered a severed hand while working on machinery. The incident occurred on 4 February 2021 and the injured worker was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney for treatment. SafeWork NSW, the state workplace safety regulator, attended the site and opened an investigation into the accident, stating the inquiry could take several months to complete.
The wind farm, comprising 45 turbines, was under construction at the time, having been approved in 2018 with construction beginning in 2019. CWP Renewables, the site's owner, declined to comment on the incident when approached by media.
