A report on 3 May 2018 said fire had engulfed the Alagbon electricity substation in the Dolphin Estate area of Ikoyi, Lagos Island, in the early hours of that Thursday. Eko Electricity Distribution Company said the fire started around 5:00 a.m. after a loud bang was heard, and that emergency officials had been alerted. A social media post said firefighters were still battling the fire. Whether the fire was put out, whether anyone was hurt, and whether power supply was affected were not reported.
