2025Published 1 Oct 2026

Wind Power Monthly reported that two crew members on an offshore wind support vessel were injured after the vessel collided with the base of a wind turbine at the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea. The extent of damage to the turbine, the cause of the collision and whether anyone else was hurt have not been reported in the text available to the register.

Not reported.

  1. Approach procedures for support vessels should keep a defined clearance from turbine foundations and allow for sea state.
  2. Crews should be briefed on collision response and medical evacuation from the vessel.
  3. Operators should record collisions and near misses so approach risks can be reviewed.
