Transformer fire at Midway Manor Allentown causes outage

A transformer blew in the Midway Manor neighbourhood of Allentown on Thursday morning, knocking out power to about 88 customers, according to PPL. Firefighters were dispatched about 7:30 a.m. for a report of a transformer fire. A resident reported that a transformer had fallen from a pole and was on fire, as was an overhead power line, which then fell to the ground. PPL said a crew had been sent and expected power back by 10:30 a.m. Whether that time was met is not reported.
