Fire damages roof of Stockton home; solar panels may have been involved

On 22 April 2022 a fire damaged the roof of a semi-detached house on Ashton Road, Stockton, on the Glebe estate. Cleveland Fire Brigade was called at 1.24pm. Three fire engines, from Stockton and Thornaby, and a hydraulic platform from Saltburn attended, and nearby roads were taped off. A brigade spokesperson said the house roof was on fire and that it looked as if the solar panels could be involved. The fire was understood to have been put out by 4pm, with two engines still at the scene. Cleveland Police said they were aware but were not in attendance.
Not reported. The only statement on solar equipment is that the panels looked as if they could have been on fire. No cause has been given.
