On the morning of 3 May 2018, a fire was reported at the Alagbon electricity substation in the Dolphin Estate area of Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Nigeria. The Eko Electricity Distribution Company said the fire started at around 5:00 a.m. and that a loud bang was heard before the outbreak. The report said the station was gutted by fire and that emergency officials had been alerted to bring it under control. The cause of the fire, any injuries and the extent of any power supply disruption were not reported.
