On 27 October 2025 the upper section of a Nordex N149/4.X turbine, including the nacelle, hub and rotor blades, fell to the ground at the Herkentrup wind farm near Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The damage was discovered the following morning. Nordex, the turbine manufacturer, confirmed material damage was sustained but that no one was injured. The wind farm consists of three N149/4.X turbines with 125-metre towers and was commissioned in 2023. It is owned and operated by Windpark Herkentrup GmbH & Co. KG.
