Solar panel fire at home in Levittown section of Tullytown

A fire in a solar panel unit was reported on a house in the 100 block of Kenwood Drive in Tullytown's Levittown section. Firefighters were dispatched at 11:55 a.m. and found a civilian attempting to extinguish the blaze on the roof. The home did not suffer serious damage. An electrical contractor was called to secure the live solar panels, which continue to produce electrical current. PECO also sent a crew to check the safety of its equipment. Additional fire companies and a rescue squad responded to assist.
